Washington Wheat Industry Asking D.C. to Do No Harm to Trade

The wheat industry in the Evergreen State is reaching out to their Congressional delegation asking them to work with the Trump Administration to “do no harm” to ag exports.

In a joint effort, the Washington Grain Commission and Washington Association of Wheat Growards called trade the “lifeblood” of Eastern Washington farmers.

The group highlighted concerns about the pulling out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, renegotiations of both the Korea-U.S. Trade Agreement and NAFTA as concerning to do correctly.

Chairman of the Grain Commission Mark Miller said, “The world is awash in wheat and the rest of the world is gunning for our markets. … The slightest crack in the door has the potential for long-term damage.”
