Washington DOE Settles with Warren Orchards
The Washington State Department of Ecology has agreed to a settlement with Warren Orchards after originally fining them nearly $74,000 for illegally watering their trees after being ordered to stop.
The settlement will include a $30,000 fine, and Warren Orchards will take 20 acres out of production and place it in a conservation easement to be run by Blue Mountain Land Trust.
The land is designed to be a part of a habitat restoration and enhancement project along the Snake River.
The settlement was approved by the Pollutions Control Hearing Board.
