USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released their final numbers for 2016’s top commodities in Washington last week.

The top two stayed the same with apples worth nearly $2.4 billion and milk worth nearly $1.1 billion. The first change came in third where potatoes moved up a spot ahead of cattle and calves.

The rest of the top ten were wheat, cherries (up a spot from 2015), hay, hops (up two spots) grapes and pears. The biggest increase in production came in hops and grapes.

Washington remains the top U.S. producer of eight crops including spearmint oil, wrinkled seed peas and concord grapes along with the usual top commodities.

Oregon’s top ten will be released on Tuesday.
