
USDA, Others Announce Return Of Nuclear Plant
The recommission of a nuclear power plant in Michigan. How is it connected to a USDA program?

Under Rural Development’s empowering rural America New Era Program, supporting the first ever utility scale nuclear plant restarted to meet zero-emission energy demands. The Deputy Secretary’s announcement in Michigan, Monday coincides with related announcements about the Palisades nuclear plant from Energy Department Deputy Secretary David Turk and White House national climate adviser Ali Zaidi. New ERA funding will allow the two rural power cooperatives to purchase total energy produced from the plant once restart takes place.
