"The Secretary has given a clear vision for us to improve the experience of our customers across the programs at USDA," according to Anne Hazlett.  The Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development adds that includes the Rural Development mission area.

Hazlet was a part of a recent listening session at USDA headquarters on efforts to make the Rural Development Loan Program more streamlined and accessible to customers.

"We've launched a major rule-making initiative that is taking four of our guaranteed loan programs and looking how we can make really a common process and platform for applying for those resources."

Hazlett added public comment on the rule-making regarding the guaranteed loan programs for community facilities, water and waste disposal, business and industry, and rural energy for America continue until October 22nd.

"And we'll take all of that information and make some decisions that will go into an actual regulation that will be moving forward for next year,” Hazlett noted.
