The Umatilla-Morrow Country Farm Bureau Recently donated $3,500 to the Wildfire Relief Funds to help those devastated by the spring wildfires in Kanas, Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado.  Ann Marie Moss with Oregon Farm Bureau told the Washington Ag Network when local farmers saw the devastation, they knew they needed to help their ag brothers.

“Kinship and empathy from fellow farmers and ranchers.  And these families who were impacted by the wildfires they will need support, financial support and probably every other kind of support for years to come.”

The fund the Farm Bureau donated to will make every dollar go further.  Thanks to the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, which will match dollar for dollar all contributions up to $1 million.  Moss added Umatilla and Morrow have challenged others to help.

“And have challenged all of the other county farm bureaus across the state, an in fact anyone involved, particularly in agriculture or based in rural areas in Oregon, to chip in to this fund.”
