Last week, the Trump administration confirmed it is considering a proposal to strip Endangered Species Act protection from nearly all wolves in the lower 48 states, including the Gray Wolf.

 

In an e-mail statement to the Center for Biological diversity, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said the agency has begun reviewing the status of the gray wolf and expects to publish a proposal to revise the wolf’s status “by the end of the calendar year.”  The e-mail continues with the gray wolf’s recovery goals exceeded, the Service proposed delisting the species throughout the remainder of its range in 2013 under the previous administration.
