The Washington State Department of Agriculture has suspended the milk processing plant license of Pride and Joy Dairy in Toppenish due to concerns over pathogens found in the raw milk product.

The plant will keep its milk producer licenses.

Tests by the state Department of Health found salmonella in milk samples that was the same strain that hospitalized two people earlier this year.

There was already a recall on Pride and Joy milk products with a best-by date of Oct. 4 or later, but now the company will be able to legally bottle or sell raw milk on the retail market.

This is the second problem for Pride and Joy this year after a recall in February.
