NASS will kick off its biannual Agricultural Labor Survey in October.  More than 1,000 Northwest farmers and ranchers will be asked to participate in the survey On-line or by mail.  The survey allows producers to provide accurate information about hired farm labor, including total number of hired farm workers, total hours worked, and total wages paid for the weeks of July 7-13 and October 6-12.  

Vegetable growers across Washington and Oregon can expect to be interviewed by NASS in the coming weeks.  The USDA will work to gather information for the 2024 Vegetable Chemical Use Survey this fall.  NASS will collect information on planted acreage, pest management practices, acres treated, and application rates, pesticide application, acres treated, and rates applied to five targeted vegetable

Farmers and ranchers still have time to be counted in the 2022 Census of Agriculture.  Although the deadline for submitting the ag census just passed, NASS will continue to accept completed census questionnaires through the spring to ensure all farmers and ranchers take advantage of the opportunity to be represented in the widely used data.   ...
