Stemilt’s new shipping facility currently being built north of Wenatchee will include 100 solar panels and will make Stemilt the largest producer of solar energy in Chelan County.

The panels will produce enough power for about 1 ½ homes per year, a total of nearly 39,000 kilowatt hours.

The building will be 500,000 square feet.

Procurement Manager Steve Edwards says they hope to see solar power production sometime in the summer or fall of this year.
