Schoesler Optimistic About HB 1912 In The Senate
On Tuesday, the Washington Senate held its first public hearing on House Bill 1912, the Fix to the Climate Commitment Act. That hearing took place in the Environment, Energy & Technology Committee. State senator Mark Schoesler said he feels the legislation sponsored by Representative Tom Dent is in good shape in the Senate.
“We have leaders like Senator [Shelly] Short on the committee, Senator [Matt] Boehnke, from the Tri-Cities that really get it that this is important to Ag. Even 2nd Harvest people feel like it's important to hold costs down to Ag producers that are donating food. I feel good about the bill in its current form.”
Schoesler added following the bipartisan support the legislation received over in the House, he’s optimistic HB 1912 will clear the Senate.
