Several eastern Washington state representatives says it’s vital to remain proactive to protect agriculture across the Evergreen State.  Joe Schmick said one way to help is a cohesive relationship with Washington D.C.  He added it’s very important for Dan Newhouse, Cathy McMorris Rodgers and lawmakers in Olympia that no harm is done to any of Washington 300-plus crops.

"And so I think there is a real cooperation, because we got to protect our markets, we live and die by export markets here in our state whether its, I’m very familiar with wheat, but apples, cherries, milk beef, I mean it goes right now the line.”

Schmick told the Washington Ag Network while exports, are vital, and keeping trade moving is critical for the state’s ag economy, he adds Water and burdensome regulations will also be key things to address in the current session.
