
Rollins Rolls Out ECAP
This weekend at Commodity Classic in Denver, CO, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins provided more details about the economic and emergency relief program for farmers, which is now called the Emergency Commodity Assistance Program, or ECAP. While ECAP’s logistics in total are still being formalized, the secretary said for the first $10 billion of economic assistance required for release by March 21st.
“We are on track to beat that, and get that money start move immediately in the next few weeks.”
Rollins added streamlined applications for economic assistance under ECAP and standards for calculating payments are being developed.
“We are simultaneously working on rapid implementation of the $20 billion in disaster assistance due to weather conditions outside your control," Rollins noted.
