
Potatoes In Storage Dip
Potatoes held in storage on June 1st totaled 57.9 million cwt, down 8% year-over-year. Potatoes in storage accounted for 14% of 2024's production, the same as a year earlier.
Potatoes held in storage in Idaho totaled 22 million cwt, Oregon totaled 3.3 million cwt while Washington totaled 14.5 million cwt.
Processors Continue To Chip At the 2024 Crop
Season to date shrink and loss nationwide, at 25.1 million cwt, was down 1% from the same time last year. Processors in the eight states used 184 million cwt of potatoes for the season, down 5% from June 2024.
