Time is running out in Washington D.C. to get a Farm Bill passed during the current Congress.  Despite growing doubt that the critical piece of legislation will not be approved between now and December 31st, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue remains confident something will move forward in the coming weeks.

When we get a Farm bill, hopefully, it's before the end of the year. These farm programs right now are OK, until about December the 8th, and I'm hoping that the Congress, now that the election is over, will come back and acknowledge that we have to come together and get a Farm Bill."

Colin Peterson the ranking member on the Senate Ag Committee says he wants to see a Farm Bill passed before the end of the year.  He said starting over from scratch, especially with the changes scheduled for 2019, will be extremely difficult.
