There are already lines out of many Oregon towns getting their place in the path of the solar eclipse that will come through the Northwest on Monday.

USA pears is using the event to reach out to retailers noting that the Northwest will be the first area in the country to see the eclipse and it just so happens to mark the beginning of the pear season.

Pear Bureau Northwest president and CEO Kevin Moffitt says, “With the first days of fresh pear harvest coinciding with this event, we want to remind produce buyers that the USA Pears team is a go-to resource for information and ideas to help retailers “eclipse” their past pear category performance and their competition.”

Bad jokes aside, Moffitt called this year’s crop beautiful and they hope that there is a lot of excitement for the upcoming season.
