Pasture Conditions Show Slight Improvements To Wrap Up August
When it comes to the latest U.S. Pastures and Rangeland Conditions, modest improvements were reported nationwide. USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey said the final ratings of August show 46% of pastures across the country are very poor to poor, which is about a 3% drop from the week earlier.
“We have very stressed rangelands and pastures across large sections of the Great Plains, and into parts of the western United States.”
Meanwhile, 25% of rangelands across the county are considered good to excellent, much of that being in the eastern portion of the country. Rippey noted that is a 2% week over week improvement.
Rippey added 70% of states are reporting some pastureland that’s good to excellent.
