The Oregon Farm Bureau will honor the state’s oldest farms, known as Century farms this weekend.  The OFB will honor the state’s oldest farm, in continuous operation, at a ceremony at the Oregon State Fair in Salem.

A dozen farms will be honored for making it one hundred years, that includes:

  • Sandoz Farm in Wasco County, established in 1880
  • Rockwell-Doherty ranch in Umailla County, founded in 1906
  • Howard-Allstott Ranch in Umatilla County 1884
  • Brown Farm in Morrow County, founded in 1912.

In addition, two farms will be honored as Sesquicentennial Farms; those operations that have stayed in the family for 150 years.  For details on all the farms honored this weekend, or to learn more about the program, visit Oregon's Century Farm Website.

After this year’s recognition, there will be 1,212 Oregon Century Farms and Ranches & 41 Sesquicentennial operations.
