After months of talks, the end is almost here.  NASS will wrap up all of its data collection for the 2017 Census of Agriculture on July 31st.  Anyone who received the Census questionnaire is required by law to respond by that date.  Chris Mertz, Director of the Northwest NASS office said the Census is your opportunity to have your voice heard in Washington D.C.

“Think about the state of Washington and how diverse our agriculture is in terms of the farmers we have and the types of crops we grow.  It’s a lot different than Midwest agriculture, so if we really want to count for Washington agriculture, and show the importance to people who are making decisions.”

If you don’t have a paper copy of the census, you can fill one out on-line by visiting the USDA's Website.  Again, Census information must be submitted by the end of business Tuesday.
