NW Cherry Crop Estimated At 20M Boxes
Northwest Cherries is out with its first crop estimate of 2026. While stressing the Round One snapshot is subject to change, the early prediction is for 19.5-21.5 million 20-pound boxes this season.
Northwest Cherries added timing, volume, and sizing will continue to evolve in the weeks ahead.
California Cherry Crop Already Ahead Of Schedule
In addition, they reported Friday California’s season is off to an early start, with warm weather accelerating crop development to approximately two weeks ahead of last year. Harvest in the Golden State is reportedly ramping up quickly, and while some growing regions have experienced compression along with isolated rain and hail events, the overall outlook remains positive.
California is anticipating a strong, promotable crop and expects to maintain good volume through Memorial Day weekend, which should lead into the availability of Northwest cherries.
