After a very wet and cool winter, drought does not appear to be a concern across the Northwest.

In mid-February 2016, 75% of Oregon was considered Abnormally Dry, with roughly two-thirds in a moderate drought.  As of Thursday 17% of the Beaver State is considered Abnormally Dry, with less than 3% in a moderate drought.

As far as Washington is concerned, last year 32% of the state was Abnormally Dry, and 7% was in a moderate drought.

This year, none of the state is under any type of designation.  The good news continues for most of the Western U.S., thanks primarily to heavy rain and snow showers in California.  This time last year, 38% of the Golden State was under an Exceptional Drought designation, the most severe category.  This year, that figure has dropped to zero.
