Last week, Representative Dan Newhouse was one of four co-chairs to kick off the Congressional Bipartisan Fertilizer Caucus.  Newhouse said agriculture has a large presence in many districts nationwide, and he feels this caucus will help those who aren’t as well versed about the ag industry.

“I’m happy to help provide that educational effort, I think that will bode well for us in the future as additional issues come up as different bills are proposed; they’ll know more and they’ll have a place where they can get questions answered.”

Newhouse added the Caucus provides another tool to ensure farmers and ranchers have the best representation in Washington DC.  Other co-chairs of the Fertilizer caucus include Florida Democrat Kathy Castor, Oklahoma Republican Frank Lucas and California Democrat Jim Costa.

Altogether, 22 representatives are part of the Caucus.
