Newhouse: Hop Crop Looks Decent Despite Weather
The 2016 Hop harvest is underway across the Northwest. And grower, U.S. Representative Dan Newhouse said this year’s crop looks good despite some challenges.
“It was an early warm spring, but the summer was pretty conducive to a good hop crop. With the change of the weather in the last week or so, it seems like everything is maturing at the same time. So, it’s a race again the clock to get everything picked before they over ripe.”
He added overall the he’s encouraged by the condition of this year’s crop in the Yakima Valley.
