NASS Reminding Producers The Importance Of Responding To Organic Survey
NASS' Daphne Schauber is urging organic producers to respond to the 2019 Organic Survey.
"These special studies are super important because it gives us more detailed special information on these particular commodities."
And, as she points out, these reports have many uses.
"That's beneficial for researchers that are looking at doing specific research for organic production. Looking at better crop insurance programs that provides crop insurance companies information that they need. Policy makers, it gives them information about organic producers and what they're facing. Farm organizations use it to lobby congress or state legislatures for funding and supporting their programs.]
Which is why Schauber said responses of the survey are so important, noting the results are "only as good as the information that we recieve."
The deadline to respond to the Organic Survey is January 10th.
