The founder of the country's most popular Greek yogurt company has now expanded his business ventures to California's Bay Area by purchasing a defunct brewing company. Anchor Brewing Company will reopen in the coming months after closing in 2023 after more than 120 years in operation.

It's time to raise a pint in San Francisco! The city's most beloved brewing company will soon be producing the beer that put the Bay Area on the ale map way back in 1896. The credit for reviving the iconic Mariposa Street business goes solely to Chobani founder and Chief Executive Officer Hamdi Ulukaya.

It's fantastic news for beer drinkers everywhere, as Anchor Brewing Company products will likely begin national distribution once again after halting sales outside of California in 2023.

Ulukaya, 51,  is now the sole owner of Anchor Brewing Company, which makes Anchor Steam, Liberty Ale, and other specialty craft beers. Ulukaya has a net worth of over $2 Billion and professed his love for San Francisco and its beer culture in a recent article by chicago.suntimes.com.

I have both worked on the factory floor of Ulukaya's yogurt hub in Twin Falls, Idaho, as well as visited the San Francisco brewery a number of years ago. I supervised a group of roughly 30 workers while being employed at a Twin Falls staffing company and was always impressed with the massive facility that employs hundreds of people.
