Odd.

That’s how meteorologist Marilyn Lohmann describes our spring weather, with the state of Oregon receiving an ample amount of rain, and Washington, becoming dangerously dry.

“We did have some beneficial rain over the last few days, but looking over the past 30, 60, 90 days it’s quite dry, especially across northern and central Washington.  A little better down along the Oregon border.”

Lohmann said you can blame an area of High Pressure along the west coast of Washington, suppressing storm systems from moving along their normal track.  She said we’ll see isolated showers, over the next couple odd days, but rain totals should be modest at best.  And then temperatures will warm up as we move into the back half of Memorial Day weekend.

And as far as the remaining portion of May in to June.  "For near to above normal temperatures, and near to below normal rainfall," Lohmann added.  "And then through the month of June is for above normal temperatures and seasonal rain fall.”
