As Congress continues to work on the 2018 Farm Bill, legislators are reaching to the non-farm public about why the bill is important to them.

North Carolina Representative David Rouzer said, “It means food safety; the highest quality, most abundant, safest food supply at the very lowest possible price. That’s important for every family, every individual and especially the single mom who’s trying to feed her kids and she’s working two or three jobs to make ends meet.”

No finalized legislation has passed out of either chamber’s committees.

The current farm bill expires at the end of the fiscal year next summer.
