An Idaho sheep rancher is under investigation for animal cruelty after 29 dead cows were spotted north of Pasco.  The animals were reported on BLM land near Highway 395.  The Franklin County Sheriff’s office flew over the property and spotted the carcasses.

Sheriff Capitan Monty Huber told the Tri City Herald deputies didn’t see any sign of cattle food or tire tracks in the snow, leading investigators believe the owner, James Marek, let the cattle starve.  No word at this point if charges will be filed.
