The 2026 Idaho Legislative session kicks off Monday, and the state Department of Agriculture will work to ensure lawmakers know the important role farming plays in the state.  ISDA will host Idaho Agriculture Day Tuesday morning at the state Capitol building.  The Department of Ag says the event serves as a platform to connect lawmakers, and the general community with the agriculture and food processing industries, which contribute more than $26 billion to Idaho’s economy.

This year’s theme is “A Taste of Idaho Agriculture at the Capitol,” showcasing the diverse food and products that come from the Gem State.  In addition to ISDA, there will be representatives from a host of Commissions including:

  • Idaho Apple Commission
  • Idaho Barley Commission
  • Idaho Beef Council
  • Idaho Cherry Commission
  • Idaho Dairymen's Association
  • Idaho Hop Growers Commission
  • Idaho Mint Growers Association
  • Idaho Water Users Association
  • Idaho Wheat Commission
  • Idaho Wool Growers Association
  • Snake River Sugarbeet Growers Association
  • University of Idaho, College of Agricultural & Life Sciences

Tuesday’s even runs from 10 a.m. to noon on the 2nd floor of the Rotunda, and is open to the public.
