All three Northwest states saw increases in hay production last year according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

 

The largest increase in alfalfa hay production came from Oregon which jumped production by 420,000 tons. Idaho and Washington were up about 200,000 tons each.

 

Non-alfalfa hay production in Oregon also up 400,000 tons and about 300,000 tons in Washington.

 

Idaho produced the most alfalfa hay, while Oregon topped Washington in non-Alfalfa hay.
