Glyphosate continues to create controversy and debate, not only here in the U.S., but around the world.  Greg Doud, chief Ag negotiator with the U.S. Trade Office, says right now glyphosate is applied to over 90% of American corn, soybeans, and cotton acres.

Lately we've seen lawsuits by people charging that glyphosate causes cancer.  However, the EPA says it likely does not cause cancer.  While there are no plans to change use of glyphosate here in the U.S., that's not the same around the world.

“Vietnam announced that it was planning to ban glyphosate,” Doud said.  “[And] France has recently announced that by the end of next year they plan to make some very significant changes.”

They join over 25 other countries that have either banned glyphosate outright, announced future bans, or have put restrictions on it in all or parts of their countries.
