Anyone who steps foot on the new gym floor at Wenatchee Valley College will be reminded of the heart and importance of agriculture to North Central Washington.

That’s because thanks to the Names Family Foundation and Horan Estates Winery, Auvil Fruit, McDougall and Sons, Chelan Fresh, Chamberlain Agriculture, Fruit Packers Supply and others, they will be playing on Auvil Fruit Court.

Athletic Director Greg Franz said, “The fruit industry really does have a history with Wenatchee Valley College that is so positive and through the foundation and through the ag program here on campus makes this feel like a really good fit.”

Franz said they were playing on a 54-year old floor that was causing a lot of injuries due to the hard surface.

The new gym floor will be something that will showcase these donations to the whole world according to Franz.

“We livestream almost all of our events now throughout the Northwest and wherever we have recruits so Idaho, Alaska, wherever. They will see very prominently on this broadcast Auvil Fruit Court and the Names Family Foundation as well as Horan Estates sign.”

The floor will be dedicated on Monday, February 13th at about 7:30 p.m.
