National FFA Membership Reaches Record High

The National FFA Organization continues to grow, reporting a record 1,053,847 student members during the 2025-2026 school year.  FFA membership increased 1.1% year-over-year, with students participating in 9,591 chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Seeing FFA continue to grow is a powerful reminder that students everywhere are looking for opportunities to lead, build meaningful skills, and prepare for their futures,” said Scott Stump, chief executive officer of the National FFA Organization.  

Texas, California, and Georgia reported the largest membership totals.  Top states with the biggest percentage jump in membership included New York, Puerto Rico, and Maine.

As far as Northwest chapters are concerned, according to FFA, 6,268 students in Idaho were enrolled in FFA last year, Oregon's attendance was 16,423, while 14,884 Washington students participated in FFA during the 2025-2026 school year.  FFA officials added there are current three FFA chapters in downtown Seattle.

The National FFA Organization says they serves students in rural, suburban, and urban communities through agricultural education focused on leadership, personal growth, and career preparation.  Founded in 1928, FFA noted they have expanded beyond its original name, Future Farmers of America, to prepare students for careers across agriculture and related industries.
