The Tilth Producers of Washington are sponsoring a farm walk and tour of the Badger Mountain Vineyard to showcase a solar electric system.

Mia Devine, Project Manager with Northwest SEED said that, “With this farm walk, we really want to educate farmers and rural small businesses about potential solutions to climate change, in particular renewable energy solutions.”

This is the 4th walk that Tilth Producers has put on and will include WSU researchers, a representative from the USDA and Umpqua Bank.

Devine noted that Washington State gets more sunshine than Germany, one of the top European solar producers, and that’s why they want to reach out, “To make sure that people on both sides of the mountain know about the solar energy technology and the resources we have here in Washington State to take advantage of it.”

The walk runs from 12:30 to 3. For more information and to register, visit the Tilth Producers website.
