Next week, several members of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will tour Southern Idaho agricultural operations.

The tour will be hosted by Samantha Parrott of the Snake River Sugarbeet Growers Association and Oliver Neher of the Amalgamated Sugar Company.

PNW Ag Network was provided a draft itinerary of the tour, which would be held from August 11 through August 15. The planned tour includes visits to:

  • Amalgamated Sugar Company Corporate Office
  • ISDA Offices
  • Ridenbaugh Canal
  • Doug Gross Farms
  • Koenig Winery
  • Gooding Farms
  • Paul Rasgorshek Farms
  • Crookham Seed Company

The tour also plans to include discussions of pests, disease, weeds, and irrigation. In focus will be sugarbeet, potato, onion, and hops operations in Southern Idaho, as well as sugarbeet operations in Nyssa, Oregon.

This is the second year that the EPA has had a hosted tour through Idaho ag production.
