Entrepreneurship and Business Planning Course at WSU
Farmers and ranchers can learn more about business strategy, marketing, planning and more thanks to a WSU weekly course starting January 9th.
WSU Extension’s Kate Ryan said, “By the end of it, our goal is for our participants to have a business plan put together that they can use going forward to help them grow their business on their farm.”
For experienced farmers, Ryan said they can learn about marketing, or new ideas to generate revenue while beginning farmers can learn a lot of the ins and outs of the business side of farming that they might not have known about.
Ryan said there can be misconceptions on how difficult it is to farm, or some who have done it so long, they don’t realize there are better ways.
“As things change, so does farming and to be as ready and prepared as possible for the potential eventualities is good business sense for anyone in business, but especially for those in farming.”
The course runs on Mondays until March 20th at the WSU Everett and Carnation campuses.
