Duvall Optimistic After Recent UK Tour
American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall recently spent time meeting with key officials in the United Kingdom, promoting American Agriculture. Duvall toured the UK, meeting with a wide range of audiences, including UK leadership, the American ambassador, as well as several British farmers. Duvall said the United Kingdom presents an outstanding opportunity to create new markets for American agricultural products.
“We think it could be an opportunity to set a gold standard for these trade deals. We hope continued conversations like these will help move these two countries closer together and strengthen agricultural ties. Our goal is to enable our farmers to help meet the nutritional needs of families in America and in the United Kingdom.”
The U.S. And U.K. Have A Lot In Common
Duvall said his time meeting with farmers in the U.K. was an eye-opening experience.
“The food production methods in our two countries have more in common than what separates us. We all face similar challenges, including labor, protecting the food supply through responsible use of pesticides, and ensuring that we can stay in business to pass the farm on to the next generation.”
