The Northwest continues to dry out.  According to the latest USDA numbers, slightly more than 48% of Washington is considered abnormally dry for early August.  The Impacted area includes the Columbia Basin up to the Northeast corner of the state,  as well as Northwest Washington stretching from the Canadian line to Tacoma.

That is significantly more than what figures indicated last week.  Oregon numbers showed a slight increase, with 45% of the state now considered abnormally dry.

Despite the hot dry conditions for the past couple of weeks, no locations across the Northwest have been designated a drought.
