Drug Take Back This Weekend
If prescription drugs, especially pain-killers, are left lying around at home, can be abused.
"Did you know, that among abusers of pain relievers, 68% obtain those pills from a friend or a relative for free?" said Nancy Hale, whose organization "Operation Unite" fights drug addiction by helping to collect prescription pain-killers, especially opioids.
"I am the mother of a son in long-term recovery, I'm the president and CEO of Operation UNITE".
Saturday, October 27th, is National Prescription Drug Take-back Day. It's your opportunity to safely and quietly dispose of any unused prescription drugs so they don't fall in the hands of family members or neighbors. To find a collection site near you, visit the DEA’s Website.
