The newly formed Harrington FFA alumni will host a dinner and auction February 24th.  Tucker Cool said the alumni chapter was created for those interested in helping local FFA chapter raise the next generation of leaders.  Cool added the funds from Saturday’s event will help local kids.

“Go toward and support and pursuit of a higher education for those kids in agriculture, not just outside of the classroom with the FFA but also inside the classroom with all of the stuff you need to learn about agriculture.”

Josh Steward, a local wheat farmer said it’s important to support the Harrington FFA chapter to encourage the next generation of growers and ranchers.

“It’s going to be a big part into the future of Harrington’s success as a community and we need young kids to come back in agriculture.  We all know the average age of the average farmer in the area and we need to encourage these kids to return home and help us out anyway they fit into that equation.’

The Harrington FFA alumni dinner and auction takes place Saturday February 24th at the Harrington Memorial Hall.  Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m., the catered dinner kicks off at 6 p.m. with the auction underway at 7 p.m.
