Dent: New BLM Commissioner Will Be A Benefit To Washington Ag

State Representative Tom Dent says he believes the relationship between the agriculture community and DNR will improve, thanks to the Department’s new head, Hilary Franz.  Dent said DNR already has a deep relationship with the ag community, so it’s vital the two are on the same page.

“She also wants to learn about fires, and fire prevention, fire suppression, forest health so, we’re really building a good relationship with her.  She’s really hungry to learn and she wants to work with everybody.  So, I’m feeling really optimistic.”

Dent told the Washington Ag Network so many ag industries have been hurt by wildfires in the past couple of years, it’s important the state take a more proactive approach.
