FSA County Committee Nominations will be accepted beginning June 15th.

Acting Administrator for the FSA Chris Beyerhelm said the terms are for three years and staggered so there is also one spot up for election.

“Anybody who wants to nominate themselves or a fellow farmer or rancher who participates in FSA programs is free to do that. They need to be postmarked or hand delivered by August 1st.”

Beyerhelm said these committees are very important to rural America.

“They’re there really to be the voice of farmers and ranchers in the community to help with the process of implementing farm programs in a way that’s fair and reasonable.”

Once nominations are in, ballots will go out in November, winners announced in December and the new term begins January 1st.
