Cooler, wetter, almost early-spring like weather will hit the Inland Northwest through the weekend.

USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey says this shift for the next few days will impact area rivers and mountains.

“That will arrest that snow melt and should quiet down the rivers a little bit so if there’s one good thing in turning cooler again it will slow down the snow melt process.”

Rivers in many areas of the Inland Northwest have been at or above flood stage the past week due to the heavy amounts of runoff from snow melt.
