Rural homeowners in Eastern Oregon could potentially take part in a USDA funded program designed to preserve and repair affordable housing for low to very-low income residents.

The USDA has announced a grant to Community in Action for $44,000 to help work with residents of Harney and Malheur counties.

Under-Secretary for Rural Development Lisa Mensah said, “This funding will go a long way toward helping maintain the value of their homes and preserve the supply of safe, affordable rural housing in rural America."
