This winter has been both helpful, particularly when it comes to reservoir storage and in some areas snowpack, and challenging.

 

USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey said one group has had particularly hard.

 

“So it’s been a tough winter when you add in the snow storms and the blizzards for livestock and that will be an ongoing concern as we head through the rest of the winter across the Northern parts of livestock country.”

 

Rippey noted that with snow on the ground covering the winter wheat, they’ve been mostly able to handle the extreme cold temperatures.
