The Chelan County Fair gets underway Thursday, September 7th and it will bring several FFA and 4-H kids from around North Central Washington to showcase their work over the past year.

Chellbie Johnson, Chelan County Fair Ambassador, shows dogs for her 4-H club.

“I look forward to having the competition and the competition with others or whether it’s myself to know that I need to do better than last year because when I go to state I get bumped up a class so next year it’s harder for me to get the score that I want or that I need.”

Johnson has won grand champion with both of her dogs Ice and Bella.

Another Fair Ambassador Alyssa La Mar will be showing her pig Charles Darwin, “Charlie,” which she said is her favorite part of the fair.

“I just like walking him around. He gets so happy when he finally gets to come out of that little pen and go for a walk.”

The fair runs from through the 10th with Sammy Kershaw playing a concert Friday night amongst many other activities, shows and so much more. You can catch the fair in Cashmere at the County Fairgrounds.
