Celebrating The Role Ag Has Played In America’s First 250 Years

We may have just wrapped up celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday, but the party continues for the Farm Bureau all year long. American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall said this is a good time to reflect on the people who helped build our nation.

“For 250 years, farmers and ranchers have helped feed communities and strengthen local economies," Duvall noted. "Their contributions continue today as farm families produce the food, fuel, and fiber Americans rely on every day. That's why Farm Bureau launched FARM 250, a year-long effort to celebrate agriculture’s role in our nation’s history and future.”

Duvall noted the FARM 250 (Feeding Families, Advancing Innovation, Rural resilience, Mindful Stewardship) is about connecting consumers with today’s producer.

“97% of farms in this country are family owned, and each has a unique story to tell," Duvall added. "If you have a story, I encourage you to participate in our FARM 250 photo contest. Agriculture helped shape America’s first 250 years and will remain an important part of its future.”
