Seattle will play host to a conference on January 18th that focuses on the future of agriculture technology.

Roger Royse who organized the event said there will be pitches from companies looking for investors, a panel discussing the future of ag tech and networking opportunities.

“When I started this group five years ago the precise problem I was trying to solve is the fact that the technology people, they were building solutions for problems that did not exist. I saw some really cool tech with no real practical application.”

That’s why Royse hopes to see anyone from financial investors to farmers and others in the ag community so that the right projects are getting funding.

Royse said their panel discussion will shape the future of other events like this as it focuses on the future of ag technology, what’s the hottest new technology and how to find funding.

“The purpose of this event is really exposure and to generate some discussion and interest and activity in the space.”

Royse said they have held agtech events all over the world and had not seen something like this in the Northwest and thought this was a critical market to introduce ag producers to technology companies in a meaning full way.

The event is free and begins at 6:00 p.m. in Downtown Seattle.
