
Northwest Well Represented In 2025 Wheat Yield Contest
The National Wheat Foundation announced the winners of the 2025 National Wheat Yield Contest. This year’s contest attracted almost 500 entries. Winners were recognized in four traditional five-acre categories and two digital yield categories.
As for local winners:
In the Winter Wheat dryland category, Oregon did quite well with Steve Vangrunsven from Forest Grove winning the Bin Buster title, while Jerry and Daniel Mullen from St. Paul pulled in 1st place. Growers from Washington and Idaho also fared well.
In Winter Wheat irrigated category, Rylee Reynolds of Castleford, ID was the bin buster, while Oree Reynolds, also of Castleford, was awarded 1st place.
When it comes to Spring Wheat irrigated, Derek Friehe of Moses Lake, WA was the bin Buster, while Dallin Wilcox of Rexburg Idaho was 1st place.
