Nine months after the final animal was removed, the Oregon Department of Agriculture announced Tuesday that clean-up of the Lost Valley Dairy is now complete.  ODA announced the “Notice of Satisfaction Clean-up Checklist” has been finished, meeting requirements for the closure of the Boardman area dairy that declared bankruptcy in early 2018.

ODA conducted seven inspections over the last year documenting compliance.

Easterday Farms Dairy LLC., purchased the farm in February 2019.  Payment for the nearly $198,000 in civil penalties Lost Valley Farm accumulated during operation are still pending and are a part of the state’s claims in the ongoing bankruptcy proceeding.  The ODA first tried to close the dairy in February 2018, when a civil lawsuit was filed against then owner Greg te Velde for repeated Confined Animal Feeding Operation violations.
